If you want to create a website, you'll want a tool that can give you the ability to do it easily and quickly. Fortunately, there's Wix, a developer of web development platforms that offers this feature and more. Here's how to use Wix to create your own website:
Choose a template.
Once you're on a Wix templates page, the first step is to choose one that is right for your site. Here are a few things to consider when choosing a template:
Does it fit with your brand? Is this the kind of design that you want to have? Are there any elements missing from the design, like an image or color scheme? If so then it's time to move onto another template.
How easy will it be for me to customize this theme? A common problem with some templates is that they are so customizable that they become too hard to use. If someone comes across a website and can't figure out how to change what they see on screen then there's going to be problems! Avoid this by choosing something intuitive enough for people who aren't tech savvy but also robust enough for those who do know their way around HTML code.
Customize your template.
On the left side, you'll see a list of all the pages in your site. Select an existing page or create a new one by clicking on "Create New Page." You can also click on any of these to jump directly to them.
When you've chosen a page that needs customization, tap on it and then tap Edit at the top-right corner. You'll be taken to a screen with all sorts of options for changing how this particular page looks and behaves. These include:
Changing its layout (header, footer, etc.)
Changing its color scheme (texts and backgrounds)
Adding images from your camera roll or camera app
Add and organize your content.
Once you've selected a template, the next step is to add and organize your content.
Add your content: The first thing you'll want to do is add all of the pages that will make up your website (for example, a homepage and an "About" page). Wix makes this easy with its drag-and-drop editor. You can also add text, images, maps, video clips and more using Wix's extensive library of elements.
Organize your pages into categories: Once you've added everything you need for each page of your website, it's time to organize them into categories on the navigation bar at the top of each page. In addition to organizing by category or function (such as "Products" or "About"), it's also helpful if every section has its own unique URL so that users can find what they're looking for with ease after clicking through from Google search results or other sites in their browser history (rather than landing on some random part of your site). You can give each section an individual URL by entering something like http://mydomainname/about into one of its text fields when adding new pages; then select "Save changes" after adding any new sections so that they'll have their own URLs instead of just being part of another master list under something like http://mydomainname/categories. This way visitors can find exactly what they need without having navigate through several different menus before finding what they want--which means less frustration overall!
Publish your site.
Publishing your website is easy. Just click "Publish" at the top-right of the Wix editor and your site will be published to the web with a Wix subdomain. If you're on a paid premium plan, you'll have the option to enable your own custom domain and even publish under multiple domains.
